Eternal Rest Grant Unto Them O Lord!

MABUHAY!

Let Us Pray

Lord Jesus, our Redeemer, You willingly gave Yourself up to death so that all people might be saved and pass from death into a new life. Listen to our prayers; look with love on Your people who mourn and pray for their dead brother/sister. Lord Jesus, You alone are holy and compassionate; forgive our brother/sister his/her sins.

By dying You opened the gates of life for those who believe in You; do not let Your brother/sister be parted from You, but by Your glorious power give him/her light, joy, and peace in heaven where You live for ever and ever. Amen.

MABUHAY!

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadelupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mystical Rose, make intercession for the Holy Church, protect the Sovereign Pontiff, help all those who invoke thee in their necessities, and since thou art the ever Virgin Mary, and Mother of the True God, obtain for us from thy most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, of burning charity, and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen.

One Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father...in gratitude for the Miraculous Portrait as a continuing miracle and testimony.

"The Angel of the Lord Declared Unto Mary"

MABUHAY!

"Let us pray,
[That through the prayers
of the sinless Virgin Mary,
God will free us from our sins.]
Father,
You prepared the Virgin Mary
to be the worthy mother of your son.
You let her share beforehand
in the salvation
Christ would bring by his death,
and kept her sinless
from the first moment of her conception.
Help us by her prayers
to live in your presence without sin.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. "

The Day Has Finally arrive. This election could change the way that the United States is going.

Remember- listen to your conscience today when you vote.

Do I want a president who will support the killing of unborn human?
Do I want a president who will keep raising the national debt?

Just A Head's Up

Okay- due to the fact that Blogger has no changed its settings and has different features, I will not be blogging anything for a while, because I will have to learn how to "work my way" around this new feature.

Second reason, school comes first. With the 1st Nine weeks ending, I will focus more on grades and since homework keeps me up all night, I wouldn't have time to blog about everything. Also with FFA National Conventions, Forestry Judging and Marching Band wrapping up, i'll be busy.

Don't worry, I will be back Fall Break! With fresh new posts, fresh new stories and pics to post! Just stay tune! Just thought i'd give you a heads up!

Have A Great Day!

Who will win? Who are you rootin for?

This year, one very special person wants to become Homecoming King really bad. He is Cody Simindinger. You might have heard of a group on Facebook or some fan club or maybe a hashtag on Twitter about Kinger2012, well now you know who it is and what it is about. Since this afternoon is hallway decorating for Homecoming Week, hopefully I could put pictures on here (if I remember to bring my camera).

New School Year = New Acquaintances!

MABUHAY!

This school year has gone to a great start! I am enjoying it and hopefully it goes by slowly so that I could enjoy it even more. With that said, this school year brings new Freshman. I do have to say, I thought I wasn't going to make any new freshman friends but I was wrong, as a matter of fact I will talk about 2 of my new acquaintances and 2 acquaintances that well- I've known them for a while but aren't really friends with them. I will talk about the 2 new Freshman's in tomorrow's blog.

First of all we start with 2 of my acquaintances. There names are Dzejna and Chelsea. Yes- I have talked about them before. Now- Dzejna and Chelsea are best friends and they are one of my acquaintances. I have known them both back since I came in 7th Grade and they weren't the friends who actually cared, but that was the past and in this the future and we have to move on with our lives. Let's see I will talk about Dzejna first.

Dzejna is a great basketball player, very smart and talkative. She also has tons of friends! Dzejna is one of those people who you would never see without someone walking with her or talking to her. She absolutely loves to talk! I recall back in 8th Grade, I asked her if we were friends and she said that we were more of acquaintances rather than friends. I didn't know what that meant so I asked her, and she told me to just look it up in the dictionary. So I did and after finding out what it meant I haven't carried an actual conversation with her since then- it's fine though, were good acquaintances. Dzejna is one of those people who can't stand being around annoying people like me- so I tend to stay away as far as possible. Dzejna no doubt in life will be successful. She will live her life the way she wants too, own fancy shoes and clothing materials, live in a huge house and probably get some type of trophy/award named after her.

Chelsea on the other hand her best friend is one of those people who has tons of friends, involve in sports and many other clubs/ organizations at school. Chelsea is a very good drummer, not only that but she is also smart and a very good soccer player! Chelsea and I are not friends, and will perhaps never be- i'm fine with that. Let's see, she is dating a College Freshman and has an older brother. I remember the first time that I met Chelsea and let's just say that it didn't turn out well. It was a band day, first day and she asked me what my name is and stuff and I told her, but then halfway through the period- I could already tell that she didn't like me. I tried asking one of her friends if she hated me and she supposedly said yes- and too this day, she still hates me.. it's okay though, haters = haters. On the top of things though- Chelsea will be successful in whatever she wants to be, live in a big house out in the country with a red barn. I wouldn't be surprised if she was one of the people who found a cure for cancer. I'm pretty sure though that whatever she wants to do with her life she will be very successful at it. And by how things look now, her and Dzejna will be best friends forever!

Chelsea and Dzejna, one of the many people at school who can't stand being around me or seeing me. I have no problem with that, they don't bother me and I don't bother them so there shouldn't be any problem whatsoever. Now, as for the future... would I ever see these two again? I highly doubt it (think about it, who would want to see me in the future.... exactly) but I know for sure that these two will remain best friends until one of them "kicks the bucket".

Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for my 2 new Freshman Acquaintances!

HAVE A GOOD Day!

23 August, 2012

My AC Best Friend!

MABUHAY!

Yes- I know, I'm a day late! It's because I have had so much homework that I haven't had the time to watch television or get on the internet so I didn't save a post from yesterday, so I am doing it today. Anyways, the past couple of days, I have had about 3 people ask me when I will blog next. I told them that I would this week. They wanted me to blog about them, however- a friend of mine asked before they did. A promise is a promise- I will blog about my AC best friend!

Now- you're probably thinking.. best friend? He doesn't have any friends! Yes- I am aware of that. However, this person is different. My Adam Central (AC) best friend is Deatra Gremaux. It all started in maybe 8th grade or early Freshman year. Kris Patterson, the SA FFA and I went to Steel Farms for a celebration/ get together. At first Kris called me and was like, "I met this girl, you have got to meet her she is hilarious and smart!" and I said to myself.. okay? After weeks of hearing story about Deatra, I decided, oh heck why not! I tried lots of ways to get to know her or even meet her- at first she was like.. "you're a stalker" and my reaction was "wow, what a judge-r, she barely knows me yet she is saying I am a stalker." Everything pretty much went uphill and downhill from there it just depended if I saw her or not.

Then during my Freshman Year, I was more involved in FFA which was good. I got to see Deatra and other the Adams Central FFA members even more and I've even got to meet some of them over the course of my high school years. I remember the first time that I seen her was at the Steel Farms bonfire my Freshman year. I didn't talk to her because my mommy told me not to talk to strangers! Plus I didn't know what to say!

Deatra is involved in so many things! Things such as 4H, FFA, Wrestling Manager, AC FFA Chapter Vice President, Student Council and History Club to name a couple. As of this school year her along with Brooke Kirchhofer (South Adams FFA Chapter President) was sworn in as District VI Treasurer! Which I am in no doubt they will do a splendid job in! Last school year, Deatra and I have gotten to know each other even better. I was there when they voted slate for District VI Officers (I along with Brittany Lotter, AC FFA Member interviewed and voted).

In June, I was privileged to attend the 83rd Annual Indiana State Convention at Purdue University. All of the schools from the state was there. I got to see a couple of friends from the Jay County FFA Chapter & Adams Central FFA Chapter. It was a real blast! On top of that I made a couple of new people and met new friends from our neighboring chapter of Monroe! This past July, as for my Supervised Agriculture Experience I had to work at the Pork Producers when 4H was in town. And guess who shows up working there? My best friend... Deatra! :)

Deatra is a very wonderful person. She has a sense of humor and very smart! She is also very wise and very much involved. For her future plans, I know that she wants to attend Purdue University and major in the agricultural field. With her experience and knowledge she will do a fantastic job at whatever she is destined to be! I am so glad that I met her. To this day she might call me her "stalker" but to me she is my Adams Central Best Friend!

Have A Great Day!

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary..

MABUHAY!

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Assumption of Mary- August 15

by: Marcellino D'Ambrosio

"This discussion of the Catholic Doctrine of Mary's Assumption, defined by Pope Pius XII as a dogma of faith, originally appeared as an article on the Feast of the Assumption of Mary in Our Sunday Visitor.

I once asked a college theology class if anyone could explain the doctrine of the Assumption of Mary. A student replied, “yeah, that’s the teaching whereby the Catholic Church ‘assumes’ that Mary is in heaven.”

There’s a bit more to the dogma of the Assumption than that. The Church does not just “assume” that any canonized saint in is in heaven. Rather, it authoritatively declares that a person is in glory and should therefore be honored in liturgy and imitated in life. Our church calendar is filled with saints' days.

But why a particular day for each saint? The first evidence for this goes back to 155 AD, to a bishop named Polycarp. The account of his martyrdom notes that after his execution, the faithful collected his bones, more precious than gold, and put them in a place of honor where every year they gathered to celebrate the anniversary of his death as a sort of “birthday” into eternal life. Celebrating Mass in the catacombs over the relics of the martyrs' led to the practice of putting relics in the main altar of every church. Eventually saints who did not die a martyrs death were also commemorated on their heavenly “birthday” and their relics were accorded great honor.

From very early times, August 15 has been observed as the “birthday” of our Blessed Lady. On this greatest of all Marian feasts we celebrate the greatest moment of her life – being permanently re-united with her son and sharing his glory.

Coronation of Mary, Assumption of Mary, Catholic Church.
All the saints experience the “beatific vision” upon their entry into heaven, and we celebrate this on every saint’s day. But there is something unique about Mary’s day. The Catholic Church teaches authoritatively that it is not just Mary’s soul that was admitted to God’s glory, but that at the end of her earthly life, Mary’s body as well as her soul was assumed into heaven by the loving power of God.

There is no eyewitness account of this actual event recorded in the Bible. Come to think of it, though, no one witnessed the actual resurrection of Jesus either. The evidence was an empty tomb and eyewitness reports that the Risen Lord had appeared to them.

Interesting parallel here. There is a tomb at the foot of the Mt. of Olives where ancient tradition says that Mary was laid. But there is nothing inside. There are no relics, as with other saints. And credible apparitions of Mary, though not recorded in the New Testament, have been recorded from the 3rd century till today.

Mary is not equal to Christ, of course. Jesus, though possessing a complete human nature, is the Eternal Word made flesh. Mary is only a creature.

But she is a unique creature, the highest of all creatures. This is not just because she was born without the handicap of original sin. Eve and Adam were born free of sin as well, but it did not stop them from sinning as soon as they had the chance. Mary instead chose, with the help of God’s grace, to preserve her God-given purity throughout the whole of her life.

The bodily corruption of death was not God’s original plan. It came into the world through sin, as St. Paul says “the sting of death is sin” (I Cor 15:56). So it is fitting that she who knew no sin should know no decay and no delay in enjoying the full fruits of her son’s work. It is fitting that she who stood by Christ under the cross should stand by him bodily at the right hand of the Father. “The Queen stands at your right hand, in gold of Ophir” (Ps 45). Enoch and Elijah, who the Old Testament says were assumed into heaven, were surely great in God’s eyes. But they do not begin to compare with the immaculate mother of His Son.

Mary, Queen of Heaven Assumption, CoronationWe too, one day, insofar as we accept God’s grace, will stand at His right hand. But Paul says that “all will come to life again, but each one in proper order” (I Cor 15:23). The Redeemer, of course, blazes the resurrection trail. But who is to be first among his disciples? The one who is last is first, the Lord’s humble handmaid who did no more than say yes, and keep saying yes, and whose soul magnified not herself, but the Lord."

My Uncle sent me that via e-mail.

Father Anthony Mary, MFVA, of the Eternal Word of the Television Network homily for today's Solemn Day.

Special Post: Last Day!

MABUHAY!

Summer 2012 is officially over. With only a couple of hours left until the new school year begins! As you can see, there is no Sunday post because this one happens to be a special post. Anyways... there are so many things that are going on this week, with school starting and meeting new people and looking forward to the people in your classes- it's hard to admit, but I think I am ready for the first day of school! This year as we know it there are a couple of staff changes not only in the High School but in the Middle & Elementary as well.

First of in the High School, Connie Shady has retired as our athletic director so Jenny Nuenschwander is her new replacement. She's very nice and organized! Gary McFarren has retired as English/ Mathematics Remediation teacher and Josh Hendrisxon has taken over. I think he is also the girls basketball coach- so I'm looking forward to meeting him and watching one of his games! Karen Martin has retired as the librarian and Mary Highley took over the new library position. I look forward to
getting to know these new staff members and seeing them in the school premises.

In the Middle School and High School with the retirement of 4/5 of the 4th Grade Teacher and 1/5 of the 5th Grade teacher there has been a couple of rearrangements and new faces as well. Even though I'm not in the Elementary anymore- I do look forward to working with the 5th grade teachers hopefully later on the year for our 2nd Annual "Around the World" cultures with our foreign exchange students.

Speaking of foreign exchange there are five (5) new students this year. They are all female with two coming from the same country; Germany, one from Mexico, Brazil & (forgot the other one). I can't wait to meet these ladies and get to know them even more and welcome them into our school, community and our Multicultural Group! Well what else is there to say? That pretty much sums up what is going on this week without pictures or images to sum it up. I do want to leave you with this music video. Enjoy!

It's Been A Great One!

MABUHAY!

With Summer 2012 coming to a close.. I would just like to reflect on the adventures the fun, the activities that has occurred this past summer.

May

21- Last day of School, last day of sophomore year, last day of class! It was a great day!
25- FFA District VI Slating for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reporter, Sentinel, - I was privileged to go with Brooke, Brittany and Deatra (of Adam Central) and Mr. Shuck to travel to Wabash, IN and find vote for our District VI office. I was privileged to sit in a room for about 3-4 hours, and listen to about 30 different interviews. What I liked about it- I got to know more about the person I was interviewing. What I didn't like- the part that only 6/7 that can only hold an office!

June

18-20- State Convention at Purdue University! I was privileged to attend a 3 day convention with a couple of friends. I also got to see a couple of familiar faces from Church, from local school districts and got to make new friends from new school districts, Adam Central, Jay County, etc. The best part of it- the whole experience, the worse part- listening to the lectures that were interesting but they were also boring! I really enjoyed it! I hope to attend National Convention in Indianapolis this coming Fall Break!

21-30- Uncle arrived and visited us with a family friend and we traveled "10 states = 10 days". It was such a blessing and such a great opportunity to travel and visit his classmates and friends! The best part was the driving and the sightseeing! I can't wait until he comes again or when we get to visit him!

21- Fortnight for Freedom begins

July

4- Fortnight for Freedom ends
4- Uncle and Sister Herta leaves the United States of America and travels back to their home land! It was not a good day.. but then again, it was bound to end sometime! I had a great time with them and hope that they had a great time here also! Can't wait to see them again!
9- Marching Band 2012 has begun! 5 day practices that run from 7am until 10am!

August

6-7- School Registration for the 2012- 2013 school year, hate to see it happen, but hey school's almost here!
8- "IGNITE!" party 2012 for the new income freshman and the new foreign exchange students, it was such a blast! Today also marks the day that I finished E2020 Economics, took the final, failed it but passed the class!

It's not here yet- but with only 5 days left let's enjoy the next couple of days relaxing and not worrying about school..... yet...

Have A Good Day!

Chick- Fil- A...

MABUHAY!

There has been speculations and debate about the recent comments that the Chick-Fil-A president/ CEO made concerning "same- sex marriage" and about how he doesn't support it. I completely agree with him 100%. I also stand by him 100%.

Now- today is "National Eat at Chick- Fil- A" Day across the country. The person who created this is politician Mike Huckabee. The company reported that many stores had historic sales for the event also the company reported record sales, and some stores had run out of food. So today, my mother and I stood out in front of the Fort Wayne Chick Fil A for about half an hour, not only to get a burger but also to support where it stance on same sex marriage. Not supporting it!

Have A Great Day!

MABUHAY!

There are approximately 2 weeks left until the end of Summer Vacation. This week, is going to be an emotional, heartfelt week. With the funeral of Nick Taylor taking place at the High School on Tuesday, it's going to be an emotional week for this little town.

Rest in Peace Nick, you will be dearly be missed!

Marching Drumline

MABUHAY!

This year's Marching Band Drumline consists of myslef, Abbie Fisher, Skyler
Zuber, Klayton Hinshaw, Jake Rife and Rain Weaver (if he ever shows up).

Bass Drums- Von Sandoval & Jake Rife

Jake Rife- this is his first year being in Marching Band! It's very nice that there are two (2) bass drum players this year! At first, I was deciding that I was going to play the cymbals but afterwards I decided to be a bass drum player so that Jake and I could help each other out! Anyways.. having Jake on the Starfire Drumline is the best! All he does is talk about Culvers, and he is so funny! I enjoy playing with him in the Drumline! This will be one great season with him in the team!

Tenor Drums- Abbie Fisher

This is her 5th or 6th year or maybe 7th year in Marching Band, i don't know. But anyways, Abbie is a talented young lady! She went from playing the snare drum last year to the tenor drums this year! This is also her senior year which is going to suck but o well. Let's see, Abbie and I make fun of Jake all the time because of his facial expressions when we practice in the choir room. Abbie and I also talk about her future plans, her future house, future wedding and her obtaining her "MRS" degree in or after college! we have our "heart-to-heart" conversation about every other day about this and that! Let's see what else?.. well she told me that she would tutor me in Pre- Calculus when I need it so that's a big help to me! Abbie is the oldest person in our drumline and I would say the smartest too!

Snare Drums- Klayton Hinshaw & Skyler Zuber

Klayton Hinshaw- well where do I start? Klayton and I have been good acquaintances his Freshman year of High School. I think this is his first year of doing Marching Band and he is a very good snare drum player!

Skyler Zuber- the youngest and most quiet member of our Marching Band Drumline! You would barely hear a sound from her let along a squeek! She is an incoming freshman and she is the sister of Sydne Zuber (see post "Other Aquaintances")

Cymbals- Rain Weaver (if he ever shows up)

(I will talk about Rain when he shows up, so check back regularly)

Have A Great Day!

22 July, 2012

3 Weeks Left!

MABUHAY!

There are officially three (3) weeks left until this Summer is over. Yet- I have many things to do! Here are the top three (3) things that I am going to do this week/ weekend.

I- Swiss Days/ Swiss Days Parade

Swiss Days is an annual 3 day even that run from Friday morning until Sunday noon. It is filled with food, rides, and music. The community also puts together a play every year and this year's play happens to be "Hansel & Gretel". I think I am going to watch it but I am not for certain yet.

II- Funeral for Nick Taylor

III- 2012 Summer Olympics

It is finally here! The XXX Games of the Olympiad! I enjoy watching the Olympics opening and closing ceremony with my family! I truly do! I specially enjoy watching the lighting of the cauldron! It always fascinates me how the city that his hosting it amazes the world with its spectacular lighting and the illuminating fireworks! Here is a video that I found on Youtube that has the lighting of the cauldron from 1968- 2010! I wonder what the cauldron would be for the 2012 Summer Olympics would be? ... We'll just have to wait and see ...

Have A Great Day!

Caution: Busy Week Ahead!

MABUHAY!

This week there are four(4) main things that are going on:

The first one being: The 4H County Fair

The County Fair also known as the 4H Fair is in town, and yes, this year I have to work for a couple of days. I'm really looking forward to it because I get to meet a couple of new people, plus it goes on my community service log sheet.

The second one being: Marching Band Practice

"Band Camp" happens to be this week. Practices are from 7am to 10am every morning. What I don't like about it is that it is a bit later, we could perhaps go from 6-9am or maybe in the afternoon so that the heat doesn't get to us. Also on Tuesday, we are marching at the 4H Parade. The only thing that would suck is that it would be way too hot to march, it is suppose to be 100 degrees out! Hope it cools down a little, but I highly doubt it.

The third one being: E2020 Summer School

Sorry, it is not the best picture on there. Summer school is not what the picture shows. For summer school I am working on Economics so that I don't have to take it this school year. I am 73% done, and only have about 4-6 little mini units/ lessons to take (about an hour left of lecture). I am almost done, I am wanting to get it done by the end of the week, but with the busy hectic schedule, I doubt i'll get to 80%, we will see.

The fourth one being: Vacation Bible School

Yes- I know, it is weird. You're probably wondering, who has VBS in the middle of July. Well we do. See every year Fr. David and the Religious Education teachers set it to a different date. It normally runs for 3-4 days, and this year it takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30pm- 8pm (I don't know why it is late, they didn't consult me before setting the time). Well what's good about it is that no other church, I think, is doing VBS because they have done it already. This year's theme is "Martyr's for Christ".

So as you can see, it's going to be a long, hot, week ahead of me. Practice, volunteering, school work, & VBS. I need a break! This whole summer has occupied me so much. With approximately 1 month left until school starts I need to get everything done and just have one whole week to myself doing absolutely nothing, just relaxing- before the school year begins!
