Leapp Day!

MABUHAY!

I just want to say that this is the first blog post that I have ever created on this day! It's because last year it wasn't a leap year, this year happens to be a leap year.

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is 1st of March already! There are about 10 months left of this year! Today is also the last day of Black History Month! Time goes by fast! With all of that said, (don't worry I will post something different for today), I leave you today with the final day of Black History Month with the video song "We Are The World". This version is the version wrote in 2010 I think for Haiti after that earthquake struck.

R.I.P. Jan!

MABUHAY!

Today, the author of the beloved series "The Berenstain Bears" Jan Berentain, has died. Read all about it below.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jan Berenstain, who with her husband, Stan, wrote and illustrated the Berenstain Bears books that have charmed preschoolers and their parents for 50 years, has died. She was 88.
Berenstain suffered a severe stroke on Thursday and died Friday without regaining consciousness, her son Mike Berenstain said.
The gentle tales of Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Brother Bear and Sister Bear were inspired by the Berenstain children, and later their grandchildren. The stories address children's common concerns and aim to offer guidance on subjects like dentist visits, peer pressure, a new sibling or summer camp.
The first Berenstain Bears book, "The Big Honey Hunt," was published in 1962. Over the years, more than 300 titles have been released in 23 languages - most recently in Arabic and Icelandic - and have become a rite of passage for generations of young readers.
"They say jokes don't travel well, but family humor does," said Jan Berenstain told The Associated Press in 2011. "Family values is what we're all about."
Stan and Jan Berenstain, both Philadelphia natives, were 18 when they met on their first day at art school in 1941.
They married in 1946, after Stan Berenstain returned home from serving as a medical illustrator at a stateside Army hospital during World War II. During that time, Jan Berenstain worked as a draftsman for the Army Corps of Engineers and as a riveter building Navy seaplanes.
Before their family of bear books was born, the young couple had already built a successful career in periodicals. A cartoon series they produced called "All in the Family" ran in McCall's and Good Housekeeping magazines for 35 years, and their art appeared in magazines including Collier's and The Saturday Evening Post.
Stan and Jan Berenstain created hundreds of books until Stan Berenstain's death in 2005 at the age of 82.

Mike Berenstain is an illustrator who collaborated on the books with his mother in recent years. His elder brother, writer Leo Berenstain, is involved with the business end of the family franchise.
The books in recent years have tackled modern subjects such as online safety and childhood obesity, and the bears (or their human helpers) answer children's emails and letters, but the goal is to tell enduring, universal stories. Perennial favorites cover challenges of getting kids to doing chores, defuse fears of the first day of school and teach values of kindness and generosity.
"It's wonderful to do something you love for so many years," Jan Berenstain told the AP in 2011. "Not everyone has that."

About 260 million copies of Berenstain Bears books have been held in the hands of children and their parents since the earliest books were published with the help of Theodor Geisel, a children's books editor at Random House better known as Dr. Seuss.
Mike Berenstain said his mother worked daily at her home studio in an idyllic part of Bucks County, north of Philadelphia, which served as inspiration for the books' setting. He said he will continue writing and illustrating future Berenstain books.
"Every day she was very productive," he said. "She was working on two books and had been doing illustrations until the day before she passed away."
Jan Berenstain is survived by her two sons and four grandchildren.

In other news, Black History Month is 2 days from being over. With two days left of Black History Month, this month has flown by! Look on the bright side we have an extra day this year!!

Prince!

24 February, 2012

Wow!

MABUHAY!

I said Wow because it is Friday already! There is about 4 days left of February and may I say this month has flown like crazy! I remember a week ago at this time we were at Destination Jesus. If I can only turn back time, I would. I miss Destination Jesus and looks forward to next year's retreat. Anyways, school update. So far it has been great. I have all B's and two C's. I will get those two C's back to a B though before the end of the 3rd Quarter. With that brought up, I can't believe that as of next week the 3rd Quarter is over which means that we are one quarter closer to vacation, and one quarter left of English Class! Woweegazaweee!!

I know that I haven't kept up with the whole Black History Month thing. I know- I'm sorry i've just been so busy, plus looking for songs, homework and all this and that so yeah. For all of you who do not know the picture below it's the Temptations. The Temptations were and still is a famous group of men who sang back in the 60's maybe?

The Temptations consisted of David Ruffin, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Otis Williams, and Eddie Kendricks. They were formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1960 as The Elgins, the Temptations have always featured five male vocalists and/or dancers. They are known for there recognizable choreography, distinct harmonies, and flashy onstage suits. The Temptations have been said to be as influential to soul as The Beatles are to pop and rock. Here is a famous video of them singing "My Girl". Enjoy!

Destination Jesus 2012!

MABUHAY!

Ok, so today I am going to be talking about Destination Jesus. You might be wondering what Destination Jesus is, well it's an annual retreat for high school youth/teens, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. It is a very spiritual event with amazing keynote speakers, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Spiritual talks from seminarians/ nuns/ monks, and most of all having fun and getting to meet new people. This year I got to go for the first time in my life. I didn't think it was going to be fun because I didn't know anyone from Jay County so that's why.

On the way there it was so weird because I really didn't know who to talk to but Agnes, Joe, Lori, Carl or Greg. Well I got to meet new people along the journey. I met a couple of kids from Immaculate Conception in Portland, plus I got to meet Don Link their CYO director. I'm going to make this blog post shorter than what I intended on it being. With that said, Friday as I said was weird. What else? Yeah, I didn't know how to react around Jay kids but I eventually got over that. Ok- Friday we got to check in with our stuff, and went for the opening celebration with the speakers. This year the keynote speakers were Bob Rice and Amanda Vernon.

Bob Rice one of the keynote speakers at Destination Jesus 2012.

Amanda Vernon one of the keynote speakers at Destination Jesus 2012.

Ok so I'm not going into details with what all happened. So Saturday was even better than Friday night. Saturday was very powerful and emotional for me at least. Saturday we started with Mass and then moved into International Rosary in different languages, and then Adoration with the Blessed Sacrament along with spiritual music. Then we had lunch and then we watched a little skit about sinning. I think that little 10 minute skit was very powerful because it shows what Lent is really about. After than the Blessed Sacrament was exposed. It got so emotional. I said that because the priest exposed it one- by- one by each of the people that were there. Since 900 people were there (according to the diocesan newspaper) about an hour or two was what it took. So yeah it was very emotional but very powerful. Then it was breakout session with each of our groups. With the breakout session, I got to speak in front of the whole Trinity and I.C. group of youth. The only problem was that every other word I spoke they laughed (I was like ok then...).

Sunday Morning consisted of breakfast, and then the exposition. With the exposition the songs were sung in Latin (very beautiful!) and then more music then the seminarians spoke, and the nuns did too, a couple of words from Father David Hasser (the diocesan vocations) and then it was time for the closing Mass. Due to the fact that Bishop Tim Doherty was at Rome for the Ad Limina visit and the Consistory he couldn't be there, however the priest that gave the homily did such a beautiful job! After the Mass, we got a group photo and then got ready to head home. On the bus ride home, we sang songs, prayed the rosary and had fun!

To be honest, I enjoyed Destination Jesus 2012. I wish that it would go on forever and ever! I mean it is very touching, powerful and emotional. If you are a Catholic in the Diocese of Lafayette- in- Indiana, I suggest that you go next year with your youth group or join a church I'm sure they wouldn't mind. I got a to meet new people, made new friends maybe? Most of all, I got a better calling to the priesthood! Above is a video that they put together from this year's Destination Jesus. I look forward to next year's celebration!

Have A Great Day!

Start of Lenten Season! What Are You Giving Up?

Ash Wednesday. . . .

MABUHAY!

Today we Catholics around the world come together to celebrate Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. You might be wondering what Lent is, well Lent is the time of period between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Well to be technical, in the Catholic Church Lent is over at Maundy THursday or Holy Thursday because that is the start of the Easter Triduum. During this 40 days, Catholics are encouraged not to eat meat on Friday's, Penance and Abstinence during Wednesdays and Friday's of Lent.

You might be wondering what I am giving up for Lent. 2 years ago was Facebook, last year was chocolate and pop and this year its: not talking to much! Yes- I love to talk so I am going to offer it up as a penance these next 40 days for Christ.

Have A Great Day!

Hoorah!

MABUHAY!

Is there times that you just wished that time was frozen for at least 24 hours, so you can enjoy things longer? Well that is exactly how I felt when I left Destination Jesus Retreat this weekend. I will talk more about that on Wednesday. Anyways, today is presidents day, which means we get the day off. I really don't know what the purpose of this day is. With today's economy, I don't think we should be celebrating a day to honor the president. Specially if we have a president that is anti- Christian, yup I don't think that he deserved to be celebrated.

Black History Month is about 9 days away from being over! Which means that we are 9 days closer to summer vacation well I should say Spring Break, 9 days closer til school starts again! Mama Mia!! What else is going on today? Oh yeah, Whitney Houston got buried this past weekend, and Their Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan and Edwin Cardinal O'Brien received their red hats. Which means that they are eligible to become Pope in the future!

Today we also celebrate a good acquaintance of mine's birthday. Shelby Mellencamp's birthday is today! She has talked about it for about 21 days now, since 31st of January. It is impossible to forget specially when you hang around her and have about 3 classes with her (Algebra II, Honors English 10 and Chemistry). I just want to greet her a Happy Happy Birthday! Shelby if you are reading this, Happy birthday! Enjoy your day off! Most of all, have fun! You're not going to be here next year caues you're going to the Indiana Academy next year! Have fun though!!!!

Here is the video I pulled up for Black History Month. Enjoy!

Have A Great Day!

Youth Retreat...

MABUHAY!

Tomorrow, is the day that I am going to Destination Jesus retreat in Noblesville, Indiana or well Carmel, Indiana. I really don't know how it will turn out, but from the past people said that it was such a beautiful experience specially during Saturday Evening's Adoration. I don't exactly know what they mean by that but I guess we will find that out on Saturday. What else is going on? Well this weekend is not going to be fun but also it's going to be stressing. There is no school Monday, but I am going to be spending my day writing the Portfolio for English Class. I still have 3 documents to do and 6 essay to type ayyyy karambaa!

Black History Month is coming to an end. Today I am going to post a cheery song. I don't think it's old, but I don't think it's recent either.

Outkast is an American hip hop duo. The duo is one of the most successful hip-hop groups of all time, having received six Grammy Awards. Over 25,000,000 copies have been sold of OutKast's eight releases, five studio albums, a greatest hits release, and the Grammy Award-winning Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Along with their commercial success, OutKast has maintained an experimental approach in their music and are widely praised for their originality and artistic content. With that said, below is the video of "hey ya"

Mee Bucketlist!!

MABUHAY!

Today is Wednesday, and I will not have a separate post about a random thing I want to talk about. But I do want to talk about my bucket list. No not the movie with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman but about my bucket list. My list consists of 5 main things I want to do. These are the main 5 that I want to do, but my list has 10 things so I'll post the last 5 next Wednesday. So with further due, let me begin.

Bucket List 1 ~ Visit Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome Italy!

Believe it or not, I have never been to Saint Peter's Basilica. It is one of the things that I want to do before I kick the can to the other side of life. I want to visit this place because it is historic and spiritual. It is full of artifacts and religious items from way back (don't know how far, but I know very far).

Bucket List 2 ~ Visit the Holy Land!

I want to go to the Holy Land mainly because it is the place where Christ was born, performed miracles, died and rose from the dead. It is also a place that would be spiritual and a place where all Christians, Jews and Muslims can come together in peace and harmony.

Bucket List 3 ~ Skydiving!

I want to go skydiving because it would be fun! Riding a gondola in Venice, staying at a 5 star hotel in Manila, seeing Stephansdom in Austria, seeing Tawian, there are more things I want to do and more things to accomplish and skydiving just happens to be one of them.

Bucket List 4 ~ Meet the Pope!

Where do I start, well I know where, I want to meet the Pope. Whether it is Benedict XVI, or whoever the next pope might be, I want to meet him before I die. One of the reasons is being because as Catholics believe he is the Successor of Peter and the Vicar of Christ here on Earth. Not only do I want to meet him but also have dinner with him and spend one whole day with him. That would be a dream, I hope it happens!

Bucket List 5 ~ Become A Catholic Priest!

As a young child, I have always wanted to become a priest. People say I have this calling I have to accept because even though everyone is called to become a priest, not everyone accepts the calling. As all of you that were not aware, I do plan on becoming a Catholic priest in the future. I want to be able to preach the word of the Lord, bring back the biretta and that Traditional Latin High Mass. So many things I want to do in such little time.

Well there you have it folks my first 5 things on my bucket list. Now, I am not going to post anything about Black History Month today, but I will in tomorrow's post. I promise!

Have A Great Day!

MABUHAY!

It is Tuesday, the 14th of February and as all of you are aware today is Valentine's Day. I don't give a lick about this holiday. Although today we celebrate a couple of Saints on their Feast Day in the Catholic Church's liturgical calendar.

St. Antoninus of Sorrento
St. Auxentius of Bithynia
St. Theodosius
St. Conran
St. Dionysius
St. EleuchadiusS
t. Nostrianus
Bl. Vicente Vilar David

With all that being said, today their is a specific Saint that is being celebrated.

Today is Day 14 of Black History Month, and yes it is half way over! I am a bit disappointed but hey, what can I do about it? The video for today is not an old video. As a matter of fact it was created this millenium! I would say this is the perfect song for Valentine's Day! Enjoy!

The person who sang "Single Ladies". We should all know who she is.

"Not Too Shabby"

MABUHAY!

Let me just start off by saying, what a day this has been! I mean good gravy, it has beeen a long, stressful, not to shabby day. Today the sophomores had a chance to go take the annual CTE field trip. Don't ask me what it means cause I don't know. Now, to be honest I thought that this trip would be boring, turns out I was right! It was. Well it wasn't that boring but parts of it were. Today I mainly just hung out with Kris, Brady Rogers and Paige Myers. Weird as it may seem but they are the only people that I actually talked to. The CTE trip included the schools- Jay County, Adam Central and Bellmont. Of course the local vocational class included Machine Trades and Auto Mechanics. To be honest again, I didn't really look forward to this trip. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the greatest.

Now, today's Black History Day person is Jennifer Hudson.

Being flat out pancake honest, I know nothing about her! Besides the fact that she rose popularity through American Idol. Here is a video of her singing "And I am Telling You I'm Not Going", or something like that just watch the video you'll know what the title would be. Anyways, I think that this video is great, believe it or not it's truly her natural voice.

Have A Great Day!

I Really Wanna See It!

MABUHAY!

This may seem as a shock, but I admit, I have seen a few chick flicks movies. For example "The Notebook". I honestly thought it was going to be a boring chick movie, but you know what it's actually a good movie. With that being said, their is a new chick flick movie called "The Vow". People out there said that I should see it because it's a good movie, and a friend of mine (not mentioning names) actually said that it's not a really chick flick movie and I will really enjoy it.

Rachel McAdams who plays the character Paige is a graet actress. I know someone that goes to SA, that looks like her and she is a freshman! People from SA you might not think of her from the top of your head but she looks just like McAdams. The Vow is a movie based upon real life couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. I'm not going to say anything about the movie because we have all seen the preview at least once. If you haven't I found this on YouTube.

Black History month is almost half way over! Can't believe that it has been 12 days already and less that 18 days left of this month and it is March already. Today's Black History person is Alicia Keys. Below is her "No One". Enjoy!

Have A Great Day!

R.I.P. Houston!

MABUHAY!

Today, going through internet news and stuff. I read that Whitney Houston has died. May God bring her soul into heaven and let her rest in peace!

Whitney Houston I admit is one of the best singers out there! She has some of the songs that will just make you dance, cheer you up when you are not feeling the best, or simply just make you want to sing along. From what I know about Whitney she was an American singer, an actress, and a producer. Whitney Houston is the most awarded female act of all time, according to Guinness World Records, and her list of awards include 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards.

I leave you with her famous "I Have NOthing"

Have A Great Day!

I Feel Guilty. . . . . . . . . .

MABUHAY!

I feel so guilty for skipping a post on Thursday! I really do feel guilty about myself. However, I do have a great explanation to that. THe reason is because I had too much homework to do. I had an essay, study for an Algebra II quiz, workbook pages, a story to read, Geometry homework, and by the time I was all done it was about 9pm, and I was exhausted! So that's why. I'm sorry!

With all that mumbo gumbo said, today's Black History Person is Bill Withers.

To be flat out pancake honest, I know nothing about Bill Withers. I really don't, besides he's a singer. Ok since I don't know anything about him, I am going to reflect on this song. Let's see this song if you clearly listen to it has a lot of meaning to it. To me, this songs mean that someone will always be watching you. Most specially he will be there to guide you every step of the way. IF you don't know who I am talking about it is God. He will always be there for you, when you fall he will be there to help you back up. When you need someone to lean on you can lean on him. God will always be there for you no matter what!

I leave you with the video below of Bill Withers singing his famous "Lean on Me"

Have A Great Weekend!

Empress of Soul. . . . . . .

MABUHAY!

Well, I didn't forget about Black History Month. Today is Gladys Knight. Gladys is known as the Empress of Soul. She is a businesswoman, author, humanitarian, a songwriter and obviously a singer. From what I know, and studied about her in the past, she was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Anyways, this is her song "Midnight Train to Georgia". This song basically reminds me of when we drove down to Georgia three (3) years ago to visit friends and while we were driving about 1am, I just woke up and went to the rest area and turned on the radio station, and what do you know. How ironic is it, that I was listening to the song "Midnight Train to Georgia" driving down Interstate 75 through Atlanta.

Those are some of the things that I love doing in life. I mean really driving down to Georgia or any place, and listening to a song either ironic, similar or something about it. Most specially watching the sun rise, ehh around 4am or so trying to hit the road before traffic hits ya at 6, yup those are the types of things that I want to expierience and I enjoy experiencing them! I am very blessed to be able to travel alot and to have families and a friends living in other parts of the state/ nation/ world. So here it is now, I leave you with Gladys Knight "Midnight Train to Georgia"

Have A Great Day!

My Foreign Friends!

MABUHAY!

It's Wednesday, and today I want to talk well describe two of my new friends. Well their not really new, yeah they are. THey are the foreign exchange students that are here with us for a year. May I say, we are blessed to have them. I am very greatfull that I met them. THeir names are Manuella and Ahn (I think that's how they spell it). Their is also Hiro from Japan, but I don't really know about him because he sits with other people well random people at lunch, plus we never really talked but say hi so yeah. Anyways, Manuella and Ahn are both talented young people. Here is a little about them.

Manuella- she is the foreign exchange from Brazil and I remember her telling me she was Catholic. THat's great I exclaimed! Anyways, Manuella is a tall Brazilian that has thee best accent ever! She talks so funny in English (not trying to pick on her or anything) but she does. From what I know she plays soccer and basketball. She is beast at both sports. I enjoy sitting at her table at lunch with her and her friends. Manuella is such a fun person to talk to, she is very nice and very talented. I admit at first, I didn't think that she would like me, I thought she would not even talk to me, but when I finally approached her and said hi, ohh, I knew that this was going to be a long good school year! Manuella and I are both in art, and may I say, she is a very talented artist. Her and Ahn makes thee best projects in that class! Well that's all I know about her - so far. All I have to say is, Manuella is a cool person and I hope she visits America again when she graduates!

Ahn- she is the other foreign exchange student but she is from Vietnam. Well, let's see were both from the same part of the world (well same continent) and what do I know about her? Well I know that her and Hiro (the other foreign exchange kid live with the same family). Ahn well she has red hair, and she hangs out mainly with Shelby and Sarah. I remember her telling me one time in art that she has a brother that lives in California. From what I know and heard from people and her friends she might attend college here in America. Maybe INdiana? I don't know. I do hope that she can attend college here, she's such a nice quiet person. However, in art her and Manuella are very artistic. Out of popsicle sticks they created a little house with a playground. If you ask me that looks very hard and perplexing! Well I can't really tell if Ahn has an accent but maybe she does when she speaks her language. Ahn is a cool, shy Asian.

That's about all I know from both of them. I kinda just posted random things about them. Once you get to meet them you will really know what I am talking about. You will enjoy talking to them!

Have A Great Evening!

Long Week!

MABUHAY!

Today has been such a long busy day. I started my school day with English 10 Class. Of course out of all the people I gave my speech 2nd. The speech wasn't really complicated but it wasn't that hard either. Michaela and Shebly both gave me ideas on what to do it on. So I did. I did it on how to go through the terminal. Their are other things out there I could have probably done it on but just didn't want to explore the options. Anywho, also today, 3rd period we had an earthquake drill. It was sorta interesting but then again it was lame. Good preparation for a real earthquake though. Let's see, Zach LeFever and I are in the middle of working on our plane in 3-D Art. So far, it looks great, just add the windows and propellar and were good to go.

What else? Well it's only Tuesday, but this week has gone by so slow! I mean really. The weather has been nice lately, but in school it has been boring! I have been busy studying for this quiz and that quiz, and every Friday now in Chemistry we have a quiz, that means I actually have to work now! Grr! Well, today we celebrate a famous person's birthday. Anyone knows who it is?

Yup- it's the good ole' classical author of "THe Christmas Carol" Charles Dickens!
Today he celebrated his 200th birthday! WOw, wonder how he feels being 200?

Here are a list of books that he has written in the past that are loved today.

The Pickwick Papers 1837
Oliver Twist 1838
The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby 1839
The Old Curiosity Shop 1841
Barnaby Rudge A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty 1841
Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit 1844
Dombey and Son 1848
David Copperfield 1850
Bleak House 1853
Hard Times 1854
Little Dorrit 1857
A Tale of Two Cities 1859
Great Expectations 1861
Our Mutual Friend 1865
The Mystery of Edwin Drood unfinished; 1870

to see a complete listing=

Alrighty, in other news, it's still part of Black History Month, so today I leave you with Michael Jackson's "Man in The Mirror". I think we all know about Michael Jackson, so I'm not going to post anything about him. All I have to say, this is such an inspirational video! Enjoy!

Day In History!

MABUHAY!

Today has been one of those days when there are so much going on. Well for once, it's the day after SuperBowl. As we all know, the Giants won. As you know, I am not a football frenzy person, but I do however enjoy it when my family and I sit down together every year for 3 consecutive years, and enjoyed watching the SuperBowl! Here is a just a random image I got off the interent. I think he was hugging him after the clock went off.

In other news, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 60th reign to the throne of England. Now if you ask me, that's a leader. No one disagrees with her, everyone loves her, she's not as corrupt as today's president, and she wise. As Queen, she rules the countries well the figurehead of the countries of United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis and I think their is more but I just can't remember them from the top of my head.

Finally, I want to close this blog post with a music video from the one and only Diana Ross "Aint No Mountain High Enough" It really is true if you believe in yourself, no mountain is high enough for you to not reach!

I Will Survive - English Class!

MABUHAY!

You might be wondering if I forgot about Black History Month, well I didn't. Now, you might be wondering why I put "I Will Survive- English Class!" as my title because I along with all the sophmores are almost done with English Class with Mr. Tatman. Now if you have never met or seen him, he's the guy wearing the flannel shirt/ polo and curdoroy pants. His class is absolutely the best, but there are days that I dread going in their. Ok- he doesn't really teach the class, but people said that after a year with him, you have learned so much. I totally agree with it, he stands up their and lecture about once every 2- 3 weeks and I feel like I have learned so much in their.

Anyways, Gloria Gaynor wrote this song "I Will Survive". From what I know, she is an American singer who is known for her disco dance pop, and R&B. I absolutely love her song "I Will Survive". I admit, I've cried listening to this song coming back from the Philippines this summer, at the airport in Taipei, Taiwan. I listened to this song because I will survive coming back here to America, after leaving all of my relatives, friends and family their specially my grandparents. Well, that's all I have to say today, don't worry, as I said their will be even longer posts, right now, I just feel like crap my head hurts, dizzy and can't breathe easily.

I leave you with Gloria Gaynors "I Will Survive"! Enjoy!

Have A Great Weekend!

Who Do You Think?

MABUHAY!

Well it has arrived, the day that most American football lovers are waiting for. Superbowl XLVI! (46). Sorry to say, but I am so sick of listening to radio news talking about this and that. I am however, in a good mood because it is in Indianapolis, the capital of the good ole' Indiana! Now, everytime I look at the Patriots, it reminds me of Jay County because it is their school mascot/ emblem. Anyways, with all that said, let Super Bowl XLVI begin! (another hour and 15 mins left!)

The Vince Lombardi Trophy! With the Indianapolis Colts Stadium (too bad they are not playing!)

Now the big question: Who are you rooting for? Who Do You Think WIll Win? How Bad will the halftime show be?

It's Friday & I Feel Good!

MABUHAY!

Day 3 of Black History Month. Today's famous celebrity is good ole' James Brown! I absolutely love him! His music is one of the best music that there is out there. Even though he died his legacy will always live forever! Anyways, what do I know about James Brown? Well I know that he started in a movie with Jackie Chan I think it's called the "Tuxedo". Such a good movie, very funny and the whole family would enjoy it.

What else do I know about James Brown? Well I remember studying about him. I remember my teacher talking about how he was born in South Carolina. I also remembered how he died on Christmas Day of 2006. Now, one of the most significant things about him is that he has often been called the "Grandfather of Soul" I think they gave him that nickname because of his age. Well not just that, but because of his hard work and dedication to music. Sorry to say, but that's all I can say about, matter of fact that's all I know about him. Here I leave you with his famous "I Feel Good".

Have A Great Weekend!

It's Good To See "Summer"!

MABUHAY!

It is the second day of Black History Month. Today the person that I want to focus on is Donna Summers. Well, lets see here, back in 5th grade when I did my Black History Month Portfolio project, my mom told me I should add Donna Summers to the section under "Famous Artists". At first I had no idea who this Donna Summers was, what she did, and what she was famous for. Then mom said, back in her day when she was still at college, she and her friends would enjoy listening to Donna Summers. So I went on Youtube, typed her name in and found a music video of her singing. Turns out she is really good.

Let's see here, the other day I was watching Family Matters, and for all you fans out there, Steve Urkel (Jaleel White) had an aunt name Oona (Donna Summers). Now, since I only got to watch the last 10 minutes of the show, from what I remember was that Aunt Oona and Harriet Winslow went to get there hair done and everyday. Then they went to the bar well karaoke type to watch Steve Urkel, Waldo Faldo Geraldo and Eddie Winslow perform. Well ok- I'm not going to ruin the whole show, if you want too you can find it on youtube. Lets the just in the end, Aunt Oona got the ca$h!

So yeah I picked her as today's Black History person. Here I leave you with Donna Summer's ~ Last Dance from 1978.

My English Buddies!

MABUHAY!

Today is Wednesday, as you all know, it's blog about anything day for me at least. Today I am going to talk about my English Class, but specifically my two English friends in that class. They happen to be Shelby Mellencamp and Michaela Rupp. You might be wondering from recent posts, since when did Rupp ever talk to me? Too be flat out honest, I really don't know, up to this day I'm still question myself, thinking to myself, talking to myself asking the same questions. I keep pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming. Now Shelby on the other hand is a different story, she is a good friend, but she gets annoyed by me alot. (I Can tell!) With all that said, I'm going to describe them both, and talk about what kind of adventures and what they contribute to my daily life.

Shelby Mellencamp- Let see here... Shelby and I first met in 7th Grade Literature Class. Now, as crazy as it may seem, Shelby and I (at least I think) have been friends. Were not really good friends as in hanging out every other day type of friends, but just good friends that we can talk about the most randomest things ever! Since this school year has started, we have been in the same Chemistry class both semesters, we are in the same English Class currently and we sit next to each other, and we are both in Algerba II period 6. Now you might be wondering what type of a person this "Shelby" might be. Well from my point of view- she laughs alot, specially at the most dumbest things on Earth. Well whenever I see her she is always smiling, and she absolutely brags about going to the Academy at Ball State next year with one of her best friends Shiana Scott. Well her parents own East of Chicago- a tasty pizzaria here in the good ole' town. I suggest you check it out next time you are here. What else? She plays volleyball and I think softball but I'm not sure (don't quote me on that one). There are so many things about Shelby that I can say. There is however nothing that will every describe the way she acts with her friends. Oh yeah and she has a brother for what I know, and well, let's just say she is a very random person!

Michaela Rupp- Oh boy, where do I start with her? Now Michaela I can definitely say that we have had our ups and downs! For once, in 7th Grade we were both in Mrs. Border's Science Class and we sat in front of each other (because it was in alphabetical order). I recall my first days at school, when she told me "We can be bestest buds", from that day on, well we were next bestest buds. Since the beginning of this school year, specially this semester, I have grown to know Michaela. Well how can I not? We are both in Chemistry and she sits behind me in English Class! I tell ya, it's always an adventure hearing her and Shelby carry on their conversation about Channing Tatum, Ryan Gosling and all those celebrity actors. She complains about swimming every other day in Chemistry, and well to be honest in my opinion she secretly loves swimming or else she wouldn't have joined it. Besides being in swimming she is beast at soccer. She has tons and tons of friends, and when you're having a bad day, just go to Michaela she will brighten your day with either a simple smile, or she will make you laugh. Too be honest, being Michaela's locker buddy is great! We get to say hi to each other every other period and we are both taking pretty much the same classes (except for Band and Earth Science). I look forward to seeing Michaela everyday in English class, she brings the sun into my cloudy day!

The music video that separates the two posts, are a tribute to both of them! Ladies if you are reading this, enjoy!

Have A Great DaY!

29 Days ~ 26 Posts!

MABUHAY!

Today is the start of Black History Month! In the past, I know that I haven't done a good job of updating it, but this time, I will do my best updating it day by day about someone who was famous for something (particularly music artists). Anyways, besides posting that, I will also post about things that are random every Wednesday ya know, to catcth the readers attetion! Anyways with all that said, today on the first day of Black History Month, we start off with Aretha Franklin.

Aretha Franklin is quite a talented woman. Her song "Respect" sure means alot. If you listen closely to the words, she talks about respect, which is how we should treat everybody and everyone. I recall the first week of this school yaer when Mrs. Minch told us how much she loved Aretha Franklin's song "Respect" and how she wants to be treated that way, and that we should show that in order to get it back. Sounds pretty obvious to me. No brainer there, common sense. Anyways, I know this isn't a lot, but trust me within the next couple of posts, it will get pretty long. So today I leave you with the music legends "Respect"
